Careers in mind

We hosted a Careers Day at our new school Brookland.

The day was a great success. Vicky Vandervelde our family support manager organised the event, which saw different business', including, a car dealership a mechanic a bespoke hat designer and the army present to the pupils of Brearley Hall and Elland House.

It was clear to see the pupils enjoyed the day's events. The day ran smoothly with all the children engaging in the day!

The classrooms and science lab turned into presentation rooms for the various career advisors. Even the schools dining hall became a presentation room with our very own chef Joel giving a talk on how he got into the culinary world. The pupils with their teachers in groups of 5 or 6 walked around the new school venturing into the different rooms. When all the children had visited each room, they were invited, including teachers and career advisors into the dining hall for a delicious lunch,

There was such a great range of different career opportunities on offer so, I feel there was something for everyone!

One pupil has actively applied for an apprenticeship, which is a massive step for this young person, and they should be very proud!!

A big thankyou to the teachers and advisors for making this day such a success.

We look forward to more events like this in the future!

A big thankyou to Vicky for organising such a great event!
